Daf & Percussion

I am born and grown up in Mahabad, Iran where I’ve even finished high school. My interest for music began already in the intermediate school and continued to grow eventually. I began get to know the famous Kurdish singers and different music epochs.

I got especially interest in percussion instruments among other things ‘drum’, ‘zarb’ and ‘Daf’.

I sought after music schools and mentors who were available by that time and came to some Iranian music figures as Sadegh Tarif and Shahram Mohammadi.

As a result of my lectures and my passion I began to cooperate with some Kurdish local music groups.

Between the years 2001 and 2004 I lived in Turkey where I played with a series of Turkish music groups with various music styles. I appeared with those bands many times and enriched my knowledge within music while I collected new experiences.

Since two years ago I live in Sweden and even here the music is a part of my life. I teach Daf to a few numbers of pupils some hours in the week.

I am responsible for selecting rhythm of Persian drums for Valeh music ensemble.
